Calendars
Each Spring, the FRCS Board of Directors and FRCS Administration, defines and approves an Academic School Year Calendar for the following year. This process is performed during open Board Meetings and input from families is welcome at all times. If you have comments or suggestions on our calendar but cannot attend our meetings please send your comments to [email protected] or send them in writing to FRCS, PO Box 5, Forest Ranch, CA 95942. Charter Petition
Charter schools operate in a manner defined by their Charter Petition. Our original Charter Petition was written and approved in 2008. At that time we were provisionally chartered by CUSD for two years. In 2010 we were re-chartered for a five-year term after presenting our Petition for Charter Renewal. FRCS Newsletters
During the school year, FRCS produces a weekly newsletter. The newsletter attempts to communicate important upcoming dates and events as well as general information important to the continued success of our students and school. If you have suggestions for improvement or articles to contribute please email [email protected] with this information. To view our archived newsletters, click here.
Policies
The FRCS Board of Directors is responsible for defining, designing, and ensuring implementation of the guiding policies for the school. This is an on-going effort performed during open Board Meetings throughout the year. Input from families and community members is always welcome and appreciated on policy issues. Registration
A fundamental difference between charter schools and traditional public schools is that charter schools can cap their enrollment. This means that charter schools fill up and maintain waiting lists for entrance. FRCS holds an Open Enrollment period each February. During Open Enrollment we collect all the registration information for students wanting to attend our school. If we have more registrants than we have room a lottery is held at the end of Open Enrollment. Students who do not get in during the Open Enrollment/Lottery period or students who register after the Open Enrollment period are placed on a waiting list. School Accountability Report Card (SARC)
Each year, on February 1, all public schools are required to post a SARC on their website. The purpose of this report is to compare an individual school to its district and the state, as well as report the preparedness and condition of the school site. To view our SARC click here.
