Open Enrollment and Registration

Forest Ranch Charter School is a free, publicly-funded, K-8 elementary school. As a charter school we are dedicated to maintaining a small school with small class-sizes. In order to maintain our intimate setting, classes frequently fill and we maintain a waiting list for students not able to enroll right away. When a seat opens up, families on the waiting list will be contacted in order and given 24-hours to enroll their student before the next family on the waiting list is contacted.

Our Open Enrollment period occurs each February. During this time, new and returning students must complete enrollment forms in order to be eligible for placement the following school year. Enrollment preference is given to returning students and their siblings.

Kindergarten Enrollment

The State of California has changed the age requirements for Kindergarten enrollment. Your child must be five years old by September 1 to enroll in regular kindergarten. ​Children born between September 2, 2019 and June 2, 2020 are eligible for our transitional kindergarten program this year. It is assumed that, unless a transition kindergarten student shows significant maturity and 1st grade readiness, students enrolling in transitional kindergarten will attend kindergarten for two years.
