Forest Ranch Explorers Club
After School Programs
The Forest Ranch Explorers Club is the after school care program for Forest Ranch Charter School (FRCS). This program is an optional addition to the regular FRCS day. This quality option is an integral part of a complete education for many families. The Forest Ranch Explorers Club is only available to currently enrolled FRCS students. Our After School Care Program has been thoughtfully designed to be a safe, enriching environment. Recognizing the importance of quality and consistency, we offer:
- Childcare staff trained and experienced in safe and effective childcare practices
- Program held onsite at FRCS
- Seamless transition between school day and Explorer Club activities - Daily homework hour, and staff trained to assist with homework
- Organized daily activities and “free play” time
- Enrichment activities- Competitive pricing
- CPR/First Aid Certified staff, approved background check, and TB clearance
FOOD AND SNACKS:Students participating in the After School Program should bring extra food in their lunch for a light, healthy snack.
SAMPLE DAILY SCHEDULE:
7:30 am – 8:00 am Supervised play/reading time
2:45 pm – 3:30 pm Supervised play/snack time
3:30 pm – 4:30 pm Organized Enrichment Activities or free play time
4:30 pm – 5:30 pm Homework Club/quiet reading time
5:30 pm – 6:00 pm Clean up/prepare for departure
ACIVITIES: After school Activities and Enrichment Program includes:- Homework Club – supervised or assisted homework time- Indoor free play activities: board games, Legos, etc.- Arts and crafts- Outdoor play, games, and sports- …and more!
HOURS OF OPERATION:Our staff is onsite from 2:45pm to 6:00pm. We are closed on all school vacation days and on Parent/Teacher Conference Day. Children may be dropped off no earlier than 7:30am, and must be picked up by 6:00pm. Out of consideration for our staff and their families, we ask your cooperation in adhering to this schedule. Late pick-ups (after 6:00 pm) will be billed at a rate of $1.00 per minute. For the safety of our children, you or the person you have authorized to pick up your child, will be required to “sign-out” your child and show photo identification.
PRICING:
After school care ONLY (monthly rates):
Five days/week: $230 per month
Four days/week: $195 per month
Three days/week: $155 per month
Two days/week: $110 per month
Note: In November, December, and April; monthly rates are reduced by 25%. June’s monthly rate is reduced by 60%.
DROP-IN CARE:Students who are currently enrolled in FRCS and have a Forest Ranch Explorers Club registration form on file with the school, may use our drop-in care option. Drop-in care must be pre-paid in the form of a punch card which can be purchased in increments of $20.00 at the FRCS office or in the Explorer Club classroom. Drop-in fees are $5/hour (rounded-up to the next ½ hour) and the Explorers Club teacher will initial, date, and stamp the card to reflect usage. For convenience, purchased punch cards will remain in the Explorers Club classroom and parents may request their punch card balance at any time during the hours of operation; 7:30am-8:00am & 3pm -6pm. Parents are asked to call ahead of time (whenever possible), to determine availability. On those days where there are no children in the Forest Ranch Explorers Club after 5:00pm, the After School program may close early; therefore drop-in care will not be available after 5:00pm on those days.
PAYMENT OPTIONS:Pre-paid monthly payments for fulltime or part-time care Pre-paid punch card purchased in increments of $20.00 One simple annual payment at the beginning of the school year (receive an additional 10% discount)FRCS offers a 30% discount for each additional sibling currently enrolled in the Forest Ranch Explorers Club.
PAYMENT GUIDELINES:All payments are to be made in person at the school office between the hours of 8AM and 3PM OR payments can be placed in a secure payment box located in the Forest Ranch Explorers Club classroom. Please make checks payable to: ForestRanchCharterSchool. If paying with cash, payments must be made at the school office between 8AM and 3PM, so a receipt can be provided. For students enrolled in monthly care, no credits will be given for early pickups, late drop off, absences, vacations, or illnesses. For those parents who have opted to pay for full or part-time care on a monthly basis, fees not received by the 5th of the month will result in a late fee of $15.00. Late fees will be bill via invoice and should be paid upon receipt. Students will not be able to attend the program if payments have not been received by the 15th of each month. Once past due balance has been paid, students are welcome to return to the program.
STUDENT GUIDELINES:At FRCS, our students are expected to strive for excellence, both personally and when working in groups. The same expectation applies to students enrolled in the after school program. Therefore, students are reminded that school rules, policies, and procedures apply at all times. Active participation in the activities is also encouraged and students are accountable for demonstrating appropriate behavior and lifeskills while attending the Forest Ranch Explorers Club.
